The Team

Behind this project you find around two dozen students from TU Berlin, who have made it their goal to further develop autonomous flight in an academic context. This takes place independent from academic personell and courses of studies. The aim of participating at the AirRace of the RobotChallenge in Beijing in August 2017 sets the time-frame.

On one hand a quadcopter is being developed whereas on the other hand a classic aeroplane is being designed simultaneously. Whilst the development of both frames inevitably leads to an increased workload it also increases the chances of developing an outstanding drone concept for the competition.

In addition to the hardware that will actually be flying systems for both navigation and control have to be developed. These tasks have resulted in five teams of which one concentrates on the organization and the other four on the different technological factors.
